The Digital Transformation Manager is responsible for modernising, optimising, and scaling existing digital workflows using Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot, and AI-enabled capabilities.
The role focuses on re-engineering legacy or sub-optimal workflows-already digital but inefficient-into intelligent, automated, and insight-driven processes that improve productivity, decision-making, and user experience.
This role requires a strong balance of process engineering, Microsoft platform expertise, and hands-on execution.
1. Workflow Optimisation & Re-engineering
Analyse existing digital workflows built on SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, Excel, legacy BPM tools, or custom systems.
Identify inefficiencies such as excessive approvals, manual workarounds, disconnected systems, and poor UX.
Redesign workflows to be event-driven, automation-first, and AI-assisted.
Standardise workflows for scalability, reuse, and governance.
2. Power Platform Enablement
Lead the optimisation and modernisation of workflows using:
Power Automate (cloud flows, approvals, integrations)
Power Apps (model-driven and canvas apps)
Dataverse for structured data and security
Replace legacy workflows with low-code, maintainable Power Platform solutions.
Define Power Platform architecture, environment strategy, and ALM best practices.
3. Copilot & AI-Driven Automation
Identify and implement Copilot use cases to augment workflows (e.g. summarisation, decision support, content generation).
Embed AI-assisted actions into workflows using:
Copilot for Microsoft 365
Copilot Studio
AI Builder (document processing, prediction, classification)
Drive adoption of human-in-the-loop AI workflows where appropriate.
Ensure AI usage aligns with security, compliance, and responsible AI principles.
4. Integration & Data Optimisation
Improve workflow efficiency by integrating systems via connectors, APIs, and event triggers.
Reduce data duplication and re-entry across Microsoft 365, Dynamics, ERP, CRM, and third-party systems.
Design workflows to be analytics-ready, enabling insights via Power BI.
Establish data models and integration standards across platforms.
5. Business Engagement & Change Management
Partner with business stakeholders to translate operational pain points into digital and AI-enabled solutions.
Facilitate design workshops, backlog prioritisation, and value mapping sessions.
Lead UAT, rollout, training, and adoption programs.
Act as a trusted advisor on digital and AI-enabled process optimisation.
6. Governance, Security & Continuous Improvement
Define and enforce Power Platform governance, security, and lifecycle management.
Establish KPIs to measure workflow efficiency, automation rate, and business impact.
Continuously evaluate and improve workflows using usage data and user feedback.
Ensure solutions comply with enterprise security and compliance requirements.
Core Experience
6-10 years in digital transformation, workflow optimisation, or automation roles.
Proven experience modernising existing workflows rather than greenfield builds.
Strong background in process re-engineering and automation-first design.
Experience leading cross-functional digital initiatives end-to-end.
