Job Description

Responsibilities

This role has organisation-wide scope across entertainment content, covering the end-to-end management of digital media assets within the Production Asset Management ecosystem.

The role is responsible for metadata governance, AI-assisted tagging accuracy, taxonomy management, and the organisation of content to support efficient ingest, search, retrieval, reuse, localisation, and multiplatform distribution. It ensures that all media assets are consistently classified, rights-aware, and aligned with branding and data governance standards.

Working cross-functionally with Editorial, Production, Programming, Marketing, Digital, Technology, and Data Governance teams, the role supports the integration, adoption, and optimisation of asset management workflows, user practices, and system capabilities.

Candidates appointed to the role will also be cross-trained to support news-related workflows and operational requirements where needed.

While not responsible for content creation decisions, the role plays a critical enabling function by improving content discoverability, supporting compliance and rights visibility, enhancing AI-enabled workflows, and identifying opportunities for content reuse and operational efficiency across platforms.

Responsibilities

Metadata and AI Tagging Management

  • Oversee the generation, review, and accuracy of metadata created by AI tools, including facial recognition, speech-to-text transcription, scene detection, object detection, logo recognition, speaker identification, talent identification, and location tagging
  • Develop and maintain metadata standards, taxonomies, genre classifications, keyword hierarchies, and tagging conventions aligned with entertainment content workflows
  • Ensure consistent tagging across drama, variety, lifestyle, reality, music, promotional, short-form, and archival assets to support accurate search and retrieval within the Production Asset Management system.
  • Maintain structured metadata for key entertainment attributes, including programme title, episode number, season, synopsis, cast, hosts, guests, locations, topics, themes, language, subtitles, ratings, rights windows, platform restrictions, embargoes, and promotional usage
  • Support improved content discoverability for internal users across production, editorial, programming, marketing, digital, social, distribution, and related teams

Workflow Integration and Asset Management

  • Manage the integration of the Production Asset Management system with entertainment production, post-production, promo, and publishing tools, including systems such as Adobe Premiere
  • Support efficient ingest, cataloguing, versioning, localisation, retrieval, reuse, archival, and publishing of entertainment media assets
  • Set up and maintain user roles, access rights, approval workflows, and asset permissions for production, editorial, programming, marketing, promo, digital, and technical teams
  • Ensure entertainment assets are properly organised for multiplatform use, including digital platforms, social media platforms, partner platforms, and commercial distribution
  • Work with stakeholders to streamline media handover processes from production, field teams and post-production into archival and publishing workflows

Quality Control, Rights, and Compliance

  • Perform regular quality checks on ingested video, audio, image, subtitle, caption, transcript, and promotional assets to ensure technical, branding, metadata, and compliance integrity
  • Oversee copyright management, talent rights, music rights, clip usage, third-party material, platform restrictions, embargoes, sponsorship obligations, and rights usage tracking
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy policies and content governance frameworks, particularly for facial recognition, audience footage, minors, and rights-managed material
  • Maintain adherence to archival, retention, backup, and preservation policies to protect the long-term value and integrity of entertainment content
  • Flag missing, inconsistent, outdated, duplicated, sensitive, embargoed, or incorrectly tagged assets and coordinate resolution with relevant teams

Training and User Support

  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for producers, promo teams, programming teams, marketers, and digital teams on AI-enabled search, tagging, metadata standards, and media retrieval
  • Develop user manuals, quick guides, workflow notes, and best practice documents for entertainment metadata management and AI-assisted asset workflows
  • Act as the primary point of contact for teams on asset-related issues, search and retrieval queries, metadata corrections, rights information, access permissions, and system feedback
  • Gather user feedback and work with Technology and Data Governance teams to improve system usability, tagging accuracy, workflow efficiency, and adoption across entertainment operations

Content Opportunity and Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor newly ingested and archived entertainment assets to identify content suitable for social media, promotional campaigns, digital features, highlights, compilations, recaps, or commercial reuse
  • Alert relevant content, marketing, digital, or social teams when there are strong opportunities to repurpose entertainment clips and assets
  • Monitor and report on system performance metrics, including tagging accuracy, ingest efficiency, search success rate, asset usage, storage utilisation, and metadata completeness
  • Propose workflow improvements based on user feedback, operational needs, emerging technologies, and evolving multiplatform content strategies
  • Support initiatives that improve content discoverability, archive value, entertainment content reuse, multiplatform publishing efficiency, and audience engagement

Qualifications

  • Good understanding of entertainment content formats, including drama, variety, lifestyle, reality, music, short-form video, promos, interviews, and archival programming
  • Degree or Diploma in Media Management, Broadcast Technology, Mass Communication, Film, Television, Digital Media, Entertainment Management, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in broadcast, entertainment, digital media, production asset management, post-production, content operations, or media archive management
  • Familiarity with Production Asset Management or Media Asset Management systems, preferably within a broadcast, entertainment, OTT, or post-production environment
  • Experience with media-related AI tools such as facial recognition, speech-to-text, scene detection, object detection, automated transcription, speaker identification, or metadata generation will be an advantage
  • Strong understanding of metadata standards, content taxonomy, SEO basics, digital discoverability, and multiplatform content workflows
  • Knowledge of rights management, talent rights, music usage, platform restrictions, data governance, and content security practices
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with creative, production, technical, programming, marketing, and digital teams
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and comfortable managing large volumes of media assets and metadata in fast-paced environments
  • Experience working in entertainment production, post-production, programming, digital content, or media archive environments will be an advantage
  • Prepared to work irregular shift hours, weekends, and public holidays where operational needs require
