Job Description
Company Profile
LeapThought is seeking commercially curious individuals to join our growing Insight Sales team, bringing next generation digital platforms to the Built Environment industry across Southeast Asia. The ideal applicant is a highly motivated individual who is energized by research, by understanding a client's business better than they expect us to, and by turning that understanding into a conversation that changes how they think about their own processes.
We are an innovative and globally awarded software company creating a step change in the infrastructure and construction sectors through our next generation digital platforms, products and solutions.
We operate in New Zealand, Singapore (SEA HQ),Australia, India and US (Global HQ), with our clients spanning Government Agencies, Energy and Resources, Architecture, Engineering and Construction, Transportation & Healthcare.
We constantly look to attract top talent as we continue to grow our already strong and culturally diverse product development, product evangelist, insight sales and Business Development teams.
What to Expect:
. You will be a member of an insight sales team with coverage of Southeast Asia, working alongside our product evangelists and business development team.
. You will do the research that earns senior/sponsor meetings: understanding an organization's projects, contract models, regulatory pressures and digital maturity before the first conversation.
. You will work in across-functional team consisting of product managers, product evangelists, marketing, software architects and other specialists.
. You will have opportunities to engage with customers to get first-hand exposure to real-world problems, challenges and opportunities for improvement and innovation.
. You will be given real ownership early. We are a lean team, and the quality of your thinking will be visible to clients and to leadership from your first months.
Responsibilities:
1. Account Research and Industry Insight: Research target organizations, their live and upcoming projects, delivery models and digital maturity. Develop a defensible point of view on where each account is losing time, money or control, and what it would take to change that.
2. Market and Competitive Intelligence: Track industry developments, regulatory and standards changes, procurement trends, and competitor activity across Southeast Asia. Translate these into insights the wider team can use in live conversations.
3. Prospecting and Pipeline Generation: Identify and reach the right stakeholders through targeted outreach, campaigns, events and referrals. Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities rather than a large list of unqualified contacts.
4. Insight-Led Client Conversations: Open conversations with something the client did not already know about their own sector, operations or peers. Use that insight to reframe the problem and earn the right to a deeper discussion.
5. Discovery and Qualification: Conduct structured discovery to understand specific needs, decision processes, budget cycles and success criteria. Qualify opportunities honestly, including qualifying out early when we are not the right fit.
6. Product Knowledge and Demonstration: Gain working knowledge of our digital construction platform and its application to contract management, project delivery, quality and asset information. Support and, over time, lead tailored demonstrations to client teams.
7. Solution Positioning and Proposal Support: Work with product evangelists and domain experts to shape solutions that match client needs. Contribute to proposals, tender responses and business cases that communicate value in the client's own commercial terms.
8. Opportunity and Tender Tracking: Monitor public and private sector tender pipelines, framework agreements and agency programme across the region. Flag opportunities early enough for the team to influence requirements rather than react to them.
9. CRM Discipline, Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of accounts, contacts, activity and opportunity stages. Prepare regular pipeline and market reports for internal stakeholders, and keep forecasts realistic.
10. Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Work closely with sales, marketing, product development and technical teams to ensure a unified approach to clients. Feed client and market intelligence back into product and marketing, and suggest improvements to our own research, outreach and qualification processes.
Requirements:
. Degree or Diploma in engineering, architecture, quantity surveying, building or project management, business, marketing, economics or related disciplines
- Min 2 years of relevant experience
. Genuine intellectual curiosity - able to research an unfamiliar industry, company or person independently and form a view worth sharing
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to hold a conversation with senior stakeholders
. Excellent teamwork, and a willingness to hand an opportunity to whoever can serve the client best
. Comfortable working towards targets and being measured on outcomes
. A rough understanding of the built environment, and a real interest in how projects are delivered
. Familiarity with CRM and prospecting tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce or LinkedIn Sales Navigator
Good to Have:
. Exposure to the built environment through an internship, site attachment, or a prior role
. Experience in are search, consulting, business development, marketing or customer-facing role
. Working knowledge of BIM, common data environments, or contract forms such as NEC and FIDIC
