DevOps Engineer

Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps / production support within banking or financial services environment

Strong hands-on experience managing and supporting distributed Big Data platforms (Hadoop ecosystem - HDFS, Hive, Spark, Sqoop, Impala)

Experience in providing L1/L2 production support for mission-critical risk or data processing systems

Proven experience in troubleshooting batch processing failures, analysing application logs and performing root cause analysis

Strong SQL expertise with experience in query optimisation and performance tuning across large datasets

Experience working in Unix/Linux environments with shell scripting for automation and operational tasks

Experience implementing monitoring dashboards using tools such as Grafana

Exposure to CI/CD pipeline processes and tools (e.g. Jenkins) to support application deployments

Experience working with cloud-based object storage solutions such as AWS S3

Knowledge of relational database systems including DB2, MS SQL or MySQL

Understanding of distributed system architecture, high availability concepts and operational resilience

Ability to collaborate with application development, database and infrastructure teams to ensure system reliability and performance
