Your Role
Our Aviation team in Singapore is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the delivery of innovative, high-performance aviation projects across Singapore, Asia Pacific, and global markets.
As a Gensler Design Manager, you will guide multidisciplinary teams through all phases of design and delivery, balancing design excellence, technical quality, client expectations, and project performance. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients while mentoring teams and fostering collaboration across disciplines.
This role offers opportunities to work on significant aviation projects throughout the region and internationally. Willingness to travel and collaborate across time zones in support of our One-Firm Firm culture is valued.
What You Will Do
- Lead the design and delivery of complex aviation projects from concept through construction.
- Partner with Studio Directors, Design Directors, Technical Directors, and project teams to achieve project goals.
- Guide multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, airport stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
- Present design and technical solutions to clients and project stakeholders.
- Develop project workplans, schedules, staffing strategies, and fee management approaches.
- Monitor project scope, budget, schedule, and overall performance.
- Serve as the primary client contact and lead project meetings.
- Oversee consultant coordination, authority submissions, and project documentation.
- Support proposal development, contract negotiations, and project start-up activities.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development efforts.
- Mentor team members and contribute to office initiatives and knowledge sharing.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
- 10+ years of experience leading large, complex projects within an architectural, engineering, or multidisciplinary practice.
- Significant aviation project experience required.
- Strong design management and project delivery experience across all project phases.
- Experience with Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, or similar delivery methods is advantageous.
- Proven ability to manage project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing, and consultant teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
- Working knowledge of Singapore building regulations, authority submissions, and construction practices.
- Experience coordinating with agencies such as BCA, URA, SCDF, and aviation authorities is preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainable design; Green Mark, LEED, WELL, or equivalent project experience is desirable.
- Registered Architect preferred; BOA Singapore registration or eligibility is highly desirable.
- PMP, LEED AP, WELL AP, Green Mark AP, DBIA, or similar credentials are advantageous.
