A local company designing and manufacturing automated vision inspection equipment for use in semiconductor production line is seeking engineers for their operations.
The Design Engineer specialises in material handlers for wafer probers, and focuses on designing and developing systems and components that handle semiconductor wafers.
The ideal candidate would create efficient, reliable and precise material handling solutions to ensure the wafer probing equipment is smooth and streamlined in its probing. They would also stay updated with the latest advancements in material handling technology and semiconductor industry trends.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design material handling systems and components for wafer probers including wafer loading and unloading, and mechanisms for wafer transport and wafer alignment.
- Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and 3D models using CAD software
- Conduct feasibility studies and simulations, to validate design concepts and performance.
- Build and test prototypes to evaluate the performance and reliability of the wafer handling designs.
- Conduct experiments and test to ensure that the material handling systems meet performance criteria and industry standards.
- Analyze test results and make the necessary design adjustments to improve functionality and efficiency.
- Good communications skills to work with other teams and departments to integrate material handling systems with the wafer probers by presenting design concepts, progress and issues to various stakeholders and teams.
- Implement feedback from field tests and customer use, to identify opportunities for innovation improvement.
- Manage design projects from concept to completion, ensuring timeline and quality standards are met.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Work with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality components and evaluate them based on quality, cost, and reliability.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users operating the systems, thru resolution of customer issues and developing training and technical documents.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related.
- Experience in design for material handling systems.
- Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD
- Specific experience in wafer probers or semiconductor testing is advantageous.
