Role Overview

The Derivatives & Structured Products Manager is responsible for managing and developing the bank's derivatives and structured investment product offerings within the Wealth Management platform. The role focuses on designing, pricing, and delivering hedging and yield-enhancement solutions for high-net-worth and wealth management clients.

Working closely with Relationship Managers (RMs), Treasury, trading desks, and external investment counterparties, the role supports the entire lifecycle of structured products-from idea generation and pricing to marketing, execution, and post-trade monitoring.

The position acts as a product specialist and structurer, helping relationship managers translate client investment or hedging needs into customized solutions such as FX options, interest rate derivatives, and structured notes linked to equities, bonds, or currencies.

What This Role Actually Does at the Bank

This role serves as the product structuring and derivatives specialist for the Wealth Management platform. The key objective is to help the bank offer sophisticated investment and hedging solutions to private banking and affluent clients.

In practice, the role typically involves:

. Designing structured investment products that offer enhanced yield or capital protection based on market conditions
. Providing derivative hedging solutions (e.g., FX options) to protect clients against currency or commodity volatility
. Supporting Relationship Managers in pitching structured solutions to clients
. Working with Treasury and trading desks to price and execute trades
. Managing product approval and regulatory compliance for new investment products
. Monitoring market conditions to identify opportunities for new structured product ideas

The role essentially sits between Wealth Management, Treasury trading desks, and clients, ensuring structured solutions are commercially viable, operationally ready, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

1. Structured Product Design & Pricing

Develop and price customized derivatives and structured investment products across asset classes including:

  • FX options and currency-linked derivatives
  • Commodity derivatives
  • Equity-linked structured notes
  • Credit-linked products
  • Interest rate derivatives

Translate market opportunities and client investment objectives into tailored structured solutions.

2. Product Lifecycle Management

Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of derivatives and structured products, including:

  • Product structuring and pricing validation
  • Trade execution coordination with Treasury or counterparties
  • Product documentation and operational readiness
  • Monitoring product performance and maturity events
  • Ensure smooth delivery of structured products to wealth management clients.

3. Sales & Client Advisory Support

Partner closely with Relationship Managers (RMs) to support client acquisition and portfolio solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing client pitchbooks and investment proposals
  • Participating in client meetings as the derivatives product specialist
  • Explaining payoff structures, risks, and market outlook to clients
  • Supporting pre-trade structuring discussions and post-trade follow-ups

4. Product Launch & Platform Development

Support the development and expansion of the bank's structured product platform by:

  • Identifying new product ideas based on market trends
  • Coordinating internal product approval processes
  • Defining product features and investment strategies
  • Supporting distribution through RM channels and digital platforms

5. Risk, Compliance & Governance

Ensure all structured products meet regulatory and internal risk standards, including:

  • Compliance with Singapore regulations and internal product governance policies
  • Review of product risk disclosures and client suitability
  • Coordination with legal, compliance, and risk management teams

6. Counterparty & Vendor Management

Manage relationships with external structuring partners, counterparties, and investment product providers, including:

  • Negotiating pricing and trading terms
  • Monitoring counterparty performance
  • Managing agreements and product documentation

7. Market Coverage & Dealing Support

Work with the Treasury and product teams to ensure adequate market coverage and execution capabilities, particularly during periods of high client demand.

Requirements

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in OTC derivatives or structured products
    Exposure to products such as:
    FX optionsI
  • Interest rate swaps (IRS)
  • Commodity derivative
  • FX / Equity / Bond-linked structured notes

Education

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Investments or related field

Technical Skills

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Understanding of structured product payoff mechanics and pricing
  • Knowledge of derivative markets and risk management principles

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in fast-moving financial markets
  • Strong stakeholder management with RMs, traders, and external partners

Language

  • Fluent in English and Mandarin
  • Ability to communicate in Traditional Chinese is required due to coordination with Taiwan HQ and clients in Greater China
