We are seeking an experienced Deputy Section Manager (Civil) with strong exposure to deep excavation and infrastructure works to support the execution of major civil construction projects in Singapore. Candidates with experience in ERSS, diaphragm wall, piling, ground improvement, shaft or station construction will be well suited for this role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing assigned work sections, coordinating site operations, monitoring progress, and ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

This role is suited for candidates with strong experience in civil construction management, particularly in deep excavation, ERSS, diaphragm wall, piling, ground improvement, reinforced concrete works, utilities diversion and infrastructure-related works.

Responsibilities

. Manage and supervise civil construction works within the assigned section of the project

. Coordinate daily site activities to ensure progress is achieved in accordance with the master programme

. Oversee construction activities including excavation, temporary works, piling, ERSS, reinforced concrete, drainage, roadworks and related civil works where applicable

. Ensure compliance with approved drawings, method statements, project specifications and construction sequence

. Monitor progress, identify delays or issues, and work with relevant stakeholders on recovery actions

. Coordinate with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, site supervisors and technical teams on operational and interface matters

. Lead or participate in site meetings, coordination meetings, toolbox briefings and inspections

. Review and support the preparation of method statements, risk assessments, inspection requests and technical submissions

. Ensure compliance with WSH requirements, project safety standards, statutory regulations and client requirements

. Monitor subcontractor performance, manpower deployment, equipment usage and material control within the assigned section

. Support quality inspections, closure of site observations, and follow-up on rectification works

. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress updates and reports

. Maintain proper records for site coordination, progress monitoring, variation works and claims support

Requirements

. Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline

. Min. 10 years experience in construction industry and min. 5 years experience in LTA projects

. Relevant project exposure in LTA / MRT / tunnel / station / viaduct / depot / major infrastructure works will be advantageous

. Familiar with method statements, risk assessments, inspections, progress reporting and construction coordination

. Good understanding of construction safety requirements, authority specifications and project compliance standards

. Strong coordination, communication, leadership and problem-solving skills

. Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced site environment

. Able to work 6-day work week
