About our client: Our client specialises in ground improvement, piling, and geotechnical solutions that support safe and stable foundations for major developments.

About the role:

We are seeking a Deputy Project Manager with a minimum of 5 years experience in managing construction projects, particularly in ground improvement works (grouting or deep soil mixing).

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for full project execution, including planning, cost control, stakeholder coordination, contract compliance, and HSEQ leadership.

This role is predominantly site-based and requires strong operational ownership and commercial discipline.

  • Deliver projects within the approved cost and budget while ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Manage and coordinate all project-related communications with internal teams, clients, main contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee project activities, including the effective allocation of manpower, machinery, and materials to achieve optimal productivity.
  • Ensure timely submission of progress claims with the necessary supporting documentation and follow up to secure payment within the contractual timeline.
  • Prepare and submit accurate financial and operational reports, including work progress reports, method statements (MS), risk assessments (RA), safe work procedures (SWP), equipment reports, weekly reports, monthly provisions, and site cash reports.
  • Ensure proper handover and transition of the project from the tender stage into the execution phase.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance and identify when to initiate the Variation Order (VO) process.
  • Oversee project close-out activities, including the collection of the Certificate of Practicable Completion (CPC) and preparation of the Statement of Final Accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's Procure-to-Pay processes, including vendor and subcontractor selection and site purchase orders.
  • Identify potential project risk proactively and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Implement and uphold global HSEQ programmes and initiatives at the project site.
  • Lead and promote a strong HSEQ culture while ensuring compliance with country, client, and company safety and quality standards.
  • Develop and manage team members through engagement, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Ensure all site personnel comply fully with company HR policies, including ethics, business conduct, site discipline, and overtime regulations.

About you:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction project management.
  • Proven experience in ground improvement works, such as grouting or deep soil mixing. Construction Safety Course for Project Managers (CSCPM) or Supervise Construction Work for WSH certification is required.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts and contract administration a certificate or demonstrated experience in construction law and contracts will be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
