Job Summary
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Deputy Contracts Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing commercial and contractual matters across projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team to oversee commercial and operational matters, ensuring alignment with project objectives and business goals.
- Conduct detailed evaluations, apply value engineering techniques, and negotiate cost and scope for procurement to recommend contract awards that optimize project value.
- Administer contracts by providing clear, actionable contractual advice and resolving contractual issues promptly to minimize project risks.
- Evaluate and certify Main Contract and Sub-Contract progress claims, variation claims, payments, and finalize account settlements to ensure accurate financial tracking.
- Monitor and manage project cash flow, budgeting, and cost control to maintain financial health and project profitability.
- Collaborate closely with Project Teams, Clients, Consultants, Subcontractors, and Suppliers to facilitate smooth project execution and resolve commercial challenges effectively.
Required competencies and certifications
- Recognized Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in industry contractual practices and familiarity with standard contract forms such as REDAS, SIA, and PSSCOC.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant working experience, including at least 5 years with a Main Contractor.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in residential, commercial, and/or institutional projects.
