Job Description

Acting as a proxy to the General Manager, this role leads the planning and execution of business strategy across the Asia Pacific region to deliver business results.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Drive regional business strategy formulation and execution in close partnership with the General Manager

2. Apply strong understanding of management policies and strategic framewroks to influence outcomes and guide decision-making.

3. Proactively negotiate with, influence, and allign diverse stakeholders while buiding effective internal and external partnerships.

4. Lead process improvement initiatives, resolving complex operational challenges with sound financial and business judgment.

5. Provide oversight across multiple functions, ensuring operational excellence, quality outcomes, and continuous improvement.

6. Lead, develop, and motivate teams by setting clear goals, fostering capability building, and maintaining high performance standards

Job Requirements:

. Lead the identification and development of business opportunities within the assigned grain trading portfolio, taking initiative grounded in a clear understanding of business strategy and maintaining full accountability for commercial results.

. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to expand business scope, strengthen partnerships, and enhance overall company value.

. Demonstrate end to end understanding of grain trading operations, including contract structuring and execution, while mentoring and directing junior team members through each stage of the transaction lifecycle.

. Identify, assess, and manage risks inherent in grain trading activities, ensuring appropriate risk controls are in place and contributing to the smooth and compliant execution of operations.

Skills & Competencies:

. Demonstrated ability to uphold high standards of compliance, integrity, and ethical conduct, with the capacity to operate independently and exercise sound judgment.

. Minimum of 8 years experience in commodity trading, preferably within grain or agricultural commodities candidates with over 12 years of relevant experience will be strongly preferred.

. Proven proactive leadership capabilities, with the ability to manage organizational and commercial responsibilities while acting as a proxy to the General Manager.

. Strong logical reasoning and analytical skills, with a high level of proficiency in numerical data analysis and commercial decision making.

. Proficiency in spoken and written English and Japanese, required for business communication with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders. Familiarity with Japanese business practices to ensure effective collaboration.
