About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Financial Controller to lead and manage the financial operations of our chemical manufacturing company in Singapore. This role will play a key part in driving financial strategy, optimizing processes, ensuring compliance, and supporting business growth in a multicultural environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Governance & Compliance
- Develop and maintain processes to ensure adherence to corporate governance requirements, including risk assessment and internal controls.
- Ensure fiscal, regulatory, legal, and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) compliance across all financial and business operations.
Financial Strategy & Operational Support
- Provide strategic financial support for plant operations and key projects, including financial modelling, contract evaluation, and engagement with local agencies (e.g., EDB, banks).
- Drive effective cash flow and working capital management to maximize returns and control costs.
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reports to support key business decisions, including revenue analysis, margin assessment, cost variances, and working capital metrics.
Tax & Statutory Requirements
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations while optimizing financial efficiency.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of statutory accounts and company secretarial matters.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Translate global/regional strategies into actionable local plans.
- Manage departmental budgets and monitor financial performance.
Risk & Process Management
- Enhance processes to identify, assess, and manage business risks, including credit risk and authority controls.
- Ensure the integrity of internal controls and data reporting systems.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, auditors, bankers, legal advisors, and other third parties.
Oversight of Other Entities
- Provide financial oversight and governance for Investment Holdings companies.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting; CA or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 3 years in the manufacturing or chemical industry (preferred).
- Proven track record of leading teams and driving strategic initiatives.
- Strong understanding of corporate governance, financial modelling, and compliance frameworks.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS and Singapore accounting and tax regulations.
- Experience in managing reporting cycles (month-end, year-end, forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning).
- Strong grasp of internal controls and their strategic relevance (JSOX experience will be an advantage).
- Excellent attention to detail with strong business acumen.
- Experience in a multicultural environment with sensitivity to diverse business practices.
- Proficiency in accounting/reporting systems, MS Office, Power BI, and general IT tools.
