Job Description

  • Manages, prepares, administers, and directs the control of the budget.
  • Manages the activities of the financial analyst staff.
  • Reviews and approves recommendations for financial planning and control, providing relevant fiscal information to executive management team.
  • Monitors division and department adherence to approved budget.
  • Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

The Deputy Finance Director is accountable for overseeing and managing all fiscal responsibilities, risk, and reporting across a region or country or across the global organization. The role is responsible for providing leadership and consulting support to business stakeholders on matters pertaining to financial management and strategic implementation in support of achieving corporate objectives and business growth.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the coordination and management of the accounting function and operation.
  • Ensure that all financial processes, systems, and policies are established and adhered to.
  • Oversee the work in progress cycle and ensure proper and efficient costing, managing operational cost recovery and operational expenditure.
  • Contributes to the analysis and preparation of several financial reports and ensures the distribution and presentation of this information at the relevant forums.
  • Implement and manage compliance with financial controls.
  • Oversees reconciliations, payments, purchase orders and ensures that the gross profit percentage is maximized.
  • Manages maintenance contracts ensuring that correct revenue and cost deferrals and contract renewals are processed on their anniversary date.
  • Manage a team of managers carrying out the financial management and control processes.
  • Review the order report for commissions and oversee expense claims.
  • Ensure legal compliance with regard to legal and fiscal tax requirements in relation to the geography in which they operate.
  • He/she oversee the management of the finance information systems and necessary reports for critical analyses of financial performance.
  • Ensure that annual audit processes are coordinated effectively and followed.
  • Annually initiates and oversees the process of budget compilation and management.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Good degree

Experience required:

  • Demonstrated financial leadership experience in a related environment, managing people, processes, and budgets to achieve corporate and divisional objectives
  • Demonstrable experience with and understanding of the deliverables of a financial function
  • (Demonstrated strategic planning experience)
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of IT industry environment and business needs, combined with a strong understanding of the business process
