Deputy Engineering Manager (Procurement Interface)
Position Overview
We are looking for a strategic Deputy Engineering Manager(Procurement Interface) to serve as the critical link between our high-levelengineering design and global procurement operations. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for synchronizing technical output with procurement timelines to ensure that all equipment and materials for major Oil & Gas EPC projects meet rigorous project specifications and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Interface Management: Act as the primary focal point between Engineering and Procurement teams, ensuring that technical data flows seamlessly and accurately to support the supply chain.
- Technical Requisition Oversight: Coordinate the preparation, technical review, and approval of all Material Requisitions (MRs), technical specifications, and bid evaluation documents.
- Schedule Alignment: Monitor engineering progress to ensure that all design deliverables are issued instrict accordance with procurement schedules and critical project milestones.
- Vendor Compliance & Review: Lead the technical evaluation of vendor proposals and drawings, ensuring all submitted documentation aligns with project requirements and safety standards.
- Clarification &Negotiation: Manage technical clarifications and alignments with vendors during both the tender phase and post-award execution.
- Quality & Inspection Support: Provide technical oversight for expediting, inspections, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) to ensure equipment integrity before site delivery.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and resolve interface bottlenecks between engineering disciplines and procurement to mitigate schedule delays or technicalnon-compliance.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related discipline).
- 10 to 15 years of robust experience in the Oil & Gas or EPC sector, with a significant career focus on engineering-procurement interface management.
- Deep understanding of EPC project lifecycles, global procurement processes, and complex vendor coordination.
- Proven track record in reviewing high-value technical bids and managing vendor documentation for large-scale energy infrastructure.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, coordination, and communication skills, with theability to lead multidisciplinary teams under tight deadlines.
- A high degree of adaptability and the ability to manage multiple complex interfacessimultaneously.
