We are a fast-growing Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) company that is committed to data-driven decision making. Within Global Technology Office (GTO), we are hiring a Deputy Director / Director of Data Insights to lead our data strategy, design and deliver analytics reporting and solutions on Azure and Microsoft Fabric, and partner closely with business leaders to turn data into measurable outcomes and actionable insights.
What You Will Do
- Lead and execute enterprise data & analytics strategy with a primary focus on Azure (Synapse, Data Factory, ADLS, Purview, Databricks where applicable) and Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Data Factory/ETL in Fabric, Power BI in Fabric, notebook/warehouse design).
- Own architecture, governance, security and operationalization of end-to-end data platforms and analytics solutions.
- Build, mentor and scale a high-performing data insights team (data engineers, analytics engineers, BI developers).
- Translate business priorities into analytics roadmaps; prioritize initiatives that deliver measurable ROI and operational impact.
- Serve as the senior stakeholder partner and trusted advisor to product, finance, operations, marketing and executive leadership; present insights and recommendations to C-level audiences.
- Define and enforce data governance, quality, lineage and metadata practices across platforms.
- Drive adoption of modern analytics patterns (real-time/nearreal-time, MLOps, self-service BI, embedded analytics).
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies to improve platform capability and cost-efficiency.
- Establish KPIs, dashboards and regular reporting that inform business decisions and track program success.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in data, analytics or BI roles, with at least 5 years in senior leadership/management.
- Deep hands-on experience and proven delivery record on Microsoft Azure data platform and Microsoft Fabric (designing/implementing solutions, platform migration or greenfield deployments).
- Strong knowledge of data engineering (ETL/ELT), data modeling, warehousing, analytics, BI (Power BI) and MLOps.
- Familiarity with other technologies/ecosystems such as Databricks, Snowflake, AWS/GCP, SQL/NoSQL databases, Python, Spark, and CI/CD for data.
- Experience implementing data governance, data quality, security, compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA as applicable).
- Demonstrated success engaging and influencing senior stakeholders and translating technical concepts to business audiences.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; comfortable presenting to executives.
- Strong strategic thinking, prioritization and program management skills; experience with budgeting and vendor negotiations.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Nice to have
- Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Fabric certifications.
- Experience with embedded analytics, real-time streaming (Kafka/Event Hubs), and advanced ML deployments.
- Prior relevant experience or leading cross-functional global teams.
