Job Description

Tokyo Gas Asia Pte. Ltd. is seeking a full-time Deputy Chief Financial Officer to oversee the company's financial management, including financial planning, risk management, financial reporting and record-keeping. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for analysing and presenting the company's financial performance and position to the management.

Responsibilities

  • Present and explain the company's financial position to management, including month-to-date and year-to-date profit and loss, cash flow, and financial forecasts.
  • Advise management on improving operational cost efficiency by analysing the monthly financial statements of representative offices.
  • Review and approve financial information entered by subordinates into the DIVA system.
  • Coordinate with HQ counterparts to ensure a smooth and practical financial reporting process.
  • Provide guidance to subordinates on coordinating and communicating with auditors regarding complex accounting matters and the annual financial statement audit.
  • Liaise with the company's and HQ's auditors to facilitate their understanding of the company's and the group's business structure.
  • Oversee the review of representative offices financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Advise representative offices on preparing concise and appropriate financial statements.
  • Lead the accounting team and ensure all accounting and finance matters are effectively managed and properly addressed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the energy industry.
  • Strong accounting expertise, particularly in J-GAAP, IFRS and consolidated financial reporting.
  • Strong Japanese language proficiency, enabling smooth communication and coordination with HQ counterparts, particularly where English is not the primary working language.
  • Self-motivated, with a strong desire to grow professionally and contribute to the organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills with a logical and rational approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently with resilience and perseverance.

  • Comprehensive understanding of tax, legal, and investment matters, particularly in relation to M&A activities.
  • Uncompromising integrity and a strong commitment to professional ethics.
