Overview
The Deposit and Remittance Manager is responsible for overseeing all deposit operations and remittance services to ensure accuracy, compliance and operational efficiency. This role manages end-to-end processes related to customer deposits, inward/outward remittances, nostro reconciliation, risk control and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily deposit operations including account openings/closing, fixed deposits placements/withdrawal/renewal and transaction processing.
- Perform KYC for client onboarding, periodic or trigger event.
- Manage inward and outward remittances. Ensure timely and accurate execution. Perform payment investigation if required.
- Supervise the verification, approval and release of transactions in line with internal controls.
- Ensure all deposit and remittance activities comply with regulatory guidelines, AML/CFT requirements, KYC standards and internal policies.
- Strong risk control mindset. Periodic reviews to identify and close operational gaps to mitigate operational risk
- Support internal and external audit inspections, address findings with corrective actions.
- Maintain robust documentation and reporting standards for audit trail.
- Provide training and guidance on processes, regulatory updates and system enhancements
- Perform UAT for enhancements related to deposit or remittance functions
- Evaluate existing processes and implement improvements to enhance speed, accuracy or mitigate risk.
- Maintain and update Deposit and Remittance Policy to reflect current practice
- Perform Maker role when required
- Undertake ad hoc duties as assigned to support business and operational needs
Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 57 years of relevant experience in Deposit & Remittance operations.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities; experience preparing executive-level materials is an advantage.
- Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
