Overview

The Deposit and Remittance Manager is responsible for overseeing all deposit operations and remittance services to ensure accuracy, compliance and operational efficiency. This role manages end-to-end processes related to customer deposits, inward/outward remittances, nostro reconciliation, risk control and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily deposit operations including account openings/closing, fixed deposits placements/withdrawal/renewal and transaction processing.
  • Perform KYC for client onboarding, periodic or trigger event.
  • Manage inward and outward remittances. Ensure timely and accurate execution. Perform payment investigation if required.
  • Supervise the verification, approval and release of transactions in line with internal controls.
  • Ensure all deposit and remittance activities comply with regulatory guidelines, AML/CFT requirements, KYC standards and internal policies.
  • Strong risk control mindset. Periodic reviews to identify and close operational gaps to mitigate operational risk
  • Support internal and external audit inspections, address findings with corrective actions.
  • Maintain robust documentation and reporting standards for audit trail.
  • Provide training and guidance on processes, regulatory updates and system enhancements
  • Perform UAT for enhancements related to deposit or remittance functions
  • Evaluate existing processes and implement improvements to enhance speed, accuracy or mitigate risk.
  • Maintain and update Deposit and Remittance Policy to reflect current practice
  • Perform Maker role when required
  • Undertake ad hoc duties as assigned to support business and operational needs

Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 57 years of relevant experience in Deposit & Remittance operations.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities; experience preparing executive-level materials is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
