FairPrice Group is seeking a Deployment Lead to drive the smooth rollout of technology and operational initiatives across our store network. This role is responsible for ensuring that deployments are well-planned, stores are ready, and initiatives are executed with minimal disruption to day-to-day operations.
The Deployment Lead will partner closely with business teams, project managers, vendors, and store operations to translate initiatives into successful rollouts, from pilots through to group-wide scaling. This role is critical in ensuring that innovations and system changes are delivered consistently and reliably to our stores.
Job Purpose
Serving as a key member of the Delivery Governance team, this role acts as a trusted deputy supporting portfolio-level governance while driving day-to-day operational excellence, vendor management, and team development.
Responsibilities
Deployment Planning & Execution
- Develop and manage end-to-end rollout plans for store initiatives (POS upgrades, process changes, innovation pilots, etc.)
- Coordinate deployment activities across project teams, vendors, and store operations
- Ensure rollouts are executed smoothly, on schedule, and with minimal impact to store operations
Store Readiness & Adoption
- Assess readiness of each store, including infrastructure, training, and staff preparedness
- Work with store managers and ops teams to ensure clear communication of deployment timelines and expectations
- Track adoption and user feedback post-rollout to ensure changes land effectively
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify potential deployment risks and put mitigation plans in place
- Act as the first escalation point for deployment-related issues during go-live windows
- Ensure all issues are documented, resolved, and tracked to closure
Team & Vendor Coordination
- Lead and guide the Manager (Front Office Solutions) and POS Specialist in execution support
- Work closely with vendors to align resources, deployment schedules, and on-site support
- Provide timely updates and reports to senior management on deployment progress and challenges
Continuous Improvement
- Capture lessons learned from each deployment and integrate them into playbooks for future rollouts
- Suggest improvements to deployment processes to increase speed, reliability, and consistency
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related technical fields or any other related profession.
RELEVANT KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 10+ years experience in IT deployment, rollout or project delivery, ideally in retail / store environments
- Proven track record of leading successful store rollouts or large-scale deployments
- Solid understanding of POS systems, store operations and retail technology environments preferred
- Excellent planning, coordination and execution capabilities
- Comfortable working in fast-moving and high-pressure rollout environments
