Key Duties and Responsibilities
Vehicle Operation & Logistics:
- Safely and responsibly operate a variety of commercial vehicles (including Class 3, 4, or 5 vehicles as licensed) to transport goods to designated customer locations.
- Conduct mandatory pre- and post-trip vehicle maintenance checks to ensure roadworthiness and operational safety.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good working condition of all assigned vehicles, arranging for timely servicing and repairs when necessary.
- Ensure vehicles are fueled adequately and ready for immediate use at the start of each shift.
Order Fulfilments & Client Interaction:
- Manage the physical loading and unloading of the delivery vehicle, ensuring all items are securely stowed and protected to prevent damage during transit.
- Involves the manual carrying of goods to customers at the point of delivery, with or without a driver attendant. The role requires the ability to safely lift and handle items up to 70 pounds (approximately 32 kg).
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all deliveries, meticulously tracking delivery times and obtaining necessary customer signatures and proof of delivery (PODs).
- Interact with clients in a professional, courteous, and highly customer-focused manner during all delivery interactions.
Communication & Administrative Support:
- Communicate proactively and effectively with the dispatch team and Logistics Manager, providing timely updates on delivery status, route progress, and any encountered issues.
- Update and maintain comprehensive monthly mileage records for all business-related travel.
- Utilize GPS devices and navigational tools proficiently to optimize delivery routes and ensure timely fulfilment.
- Assist with ad-hoc operational tasks, such as picking up office purchases or other administrative needs, as required.
Operational Compliance:
- Comply with all traffic laws, relevant safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
- Warehouse Duties: Be willing and able to work within the warehouse environment and perform routine warehouse activities (such as picking, packing, and housekeeping) as and when required by operational needs.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Singapore Driving License (Class 3, 4, or 5).
- A clean driving record is mandatory.
- Proven, recent experience as a delivery driver or in a similar professional logistics role.
- Ability to read and write basic English for delivery documentation and communication.
- Extensive knowledge of Singapore's road network and operating area.
Skills & Physical Demands:
- Good physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to safely lift and manoeuvre heavy items (up to 70 pounds). Must be medically fit.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure to meet tight delivery deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage travel schedules and documentation effectively.
- Ability to take instructions from supervisors and execute deliveries in a timely and orderly manner.
- A cooperative team player, compliant with warehouse and safety regulations.
Work Timings:
Monday to Friday: 8.30 am to 6.00 pm.
After 6.00 pm, will be considered as OverTime pay.
Saturday: 8.00am onwards, will be paid as OT too.
