Position Summary:
The Day Technician is responsible for assisting with the daily operation for some of the auxiliary, non-process-related jobs during the day in a safe and efficient manner. The role includes but is not limited to unloading bulk raw material, carrying out waste management activities on site, transporting materials using forklift and maintaining the site's 5S.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Handle bulk raw material unloading and storage
- Perform waste management (wastewater handling, coordinate waste collection)
- Conduct water sampling for lab analysis
- Monitor and log utilities parameters
- Operate forklift for material transport
- Ensure safe handling of equipment and use of PPE (including respirator)
- Perform basic maintenance, housekeeping, and maintain 5S standards
- Support dispatch preparation (e.g. labelling finished goods)
- Escort contractors in controlled areas
- Complete assigned training and participate in CERT
- Support HSE initiatives, safety activities, and continuous improvement
Accountabilities:
- Follow procedures to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Monitor and adjust equipment for safety, quality, and performance
- Record and document critical process data accurately
- Communicate operational needs with team and management
- Handle hazardous materials safely
- Comply strictly with HSE rules, regulations, and safety standards
Technical Skills / Experience / Traits:
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing operations
- Basic computer skills and keyboard proficiency (Microsoft applications preferred)
- Proficient in English (spoken and written)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels
- Team player with willingness to support others
- Experience in safety, occupational health, quality, environment, logistics, and maintenance
- Knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001), SS651, cGMP, and microbial control is an advantage
- Strong HSE and quality-focused mindset
- Diploma / GCE A, O, N levels / NITEC / Higher NITEC.
- Possess a forklift driving license is an advantage.
- Competency in HAZMAT, firefighting and Incident Management is an advantage
- Fresh Graduates/Minimal Experience are welcome to apply as well
Additional Details:
- Working Location: Tuas
- Working Hours: 8am - 5pm (Monday-Friday) - May need to OT occasionally when required.
- Shuttle Buses from Boon Lay/Jurong East
