Database Administrator

Roles & Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade and maintain MySQL and SQL Server database environments.

• Manage database objects, including tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, functions and triggers.

• Monitor database performance, availability, capacity and health.

• Perform SQL query optimization and troubleshoot slow-running queries using execution plans and performance-monitoring tools.

• Create and maintain database backup and recovery strategies, including scheduled backups and restoration testing.

• Handle database user creation, roles, permissions and access control.

• Monitor and troubleshoot database connectivity, locking, blocking, deadlocks and transaction-related issues.

Skills & Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with MySQL Database Administration.

• Excellent knowledge of SQL.

• Good understanding of database architecture and normalization.

• Experience with query optimization and performance tuning.

• Strong knowledge of indexes, execution plans, transactions, locks and deadlocks.

• Experience with MySQL backup and recovery.

• Knowledge of MySQL replication and high-availability concepts.

• Experience with database monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
