Roles:

. Responsible for management of database systems, including implementing relevant security standards and ensure high availability for the databases.

. Installation of various database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, among others, running on various operating systems like AIX, Linux and Windows.

. Design, create and maintain databases based on business requirements.

. Perform upgrade of database software and apply patches as needed.

. Implement security policies to ensure integrity and accuracy of the database.

. Prepare, test and perform backup and recovery plan in the event of a disaster.

. Perform regular database maintenance such as backup, statistics gathering and analysis and database reorganization.

. Replicate and migrate databases across different environments as required.

. Monitor and improve database performance and capacity, and plan for future business expansion.

. Provide assistance to application developers on SQL tuning and other database-related issues.

. Liaise with vendors on purchase, licensing and resolution of critical issues and bugs related to database.

. Provide on-call databases support as needed.

. Ensure maximum availability of all databases.

Skills:

. Oracle 10g/11g /12c database administration

. Oracle tools/features - RAC, ASM, OEM, SQL, PL/SQL, RMAN

. MS SQL Database Server administration and installation

. Unix shell scripting and Basic Unix and Windows system administration
