Data Scientist

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Data Scientist Team will lead the running of analytical experiments in a methodical manner, and will regularly evaluate alternate models via theoretical approaches.
- Under general supervision, support the research and development of statistical learning models for data analysis
- Support in the collaboration with relevant departments to understand company needs and devise possible solutions
- Stay updated on latest technology trends
- Support in the communication of results and ideas to key decision makers and stakeholders
- Support implementation of new statistical or other mathematical methodologies as needed for specific models or analysis
- Support joint development efforts optimization through appropriate database use and project design

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math or related field
- At least 3 years practical experience with SAS, ETL, data processing, database programming and data analytics
- Basic background in data mining and statistical analysis
- Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation
- Excellent pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills
- Exposure to programming languages such as Java/Python an asset
