Role Description The Data Science Intern role is a full-time remote position focused on supporting data-driven decision-making across the marketplace platform. In this role, the intern will clean, transform, and analyze large datasets, perform exploratory data analysis, and contribute to building models that improve recommendations, search relevance, and user experience. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with product and engineering teams to define metrics, design experiments, and interpret results, as well as creating clear visualizations and reports for stakeholders. The intern will also assist in evaluating the impact of AI-powered features, documenting methodologies, and continuously improving analytical workflows.
Qualifications
- University Student (Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly.
- Foundational knowledge in statistics, including probability, hypothesis testing, and regression.
- Core understanding of data science concepts, such as supervised/unsupervised learning and model evaluation.
- Hands-on experience or coursework in data analytics and data analysis, using tools such as Python, R, or SQL.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or Python/R libraries like Matplotlib, Seaborn, ggplot2).
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and collaborate across distributed teams.
- Interest in marketplaces, fintech, or proptech, and enthusiasm for applying data to improve user experience and business outcomes.
