We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented data science professional to join our growing team in the Asia Pacific Regional office in Singapore.
In this role, you will be reporting to the IT Business Engagement APAC, Data Scientist, to analyze operational and market data, propose and build predictive models to implement proofs-of-concept (POC) and minimum viable products (MVP) to solve real-time shipping industry challenges. This role supports the engagement team to define functional requirements and technical documentation to facilitate the industrialization of POC/MVPs for production-grade implementations. There is an opportunity to participate in end-to-end solutioning and not limited to data science modelling projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather business requirements from business users
- Develop front-end mock-ups and document functional requirements to validate business requirements with stakeholders
- Collect, cleanse, process and analyze data (company and market data)
- Building models to solve real-world problems in the area of data science, not limited to anomaly detection, deep learning, machine learning, time-series,
Generative AI projects
Operational research is not limited to network optimization, the shortest path for maritime roads - Collaborate with Data Scientist and Solution Delivery teams to conceptualize an end-to-end IT solution, and ensure POC/MVP projects are executed successfully
- Perform testing and facilitate user acceptance testing with the business
- Proactive regular communications and status updates to project leads and business stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in data analysis roles, preferably in a large organization, where you have successfully bridged the gap between IT and business teams.
- Proficiency in data science programming languages, including Python and SQL.
- Experience in machine learning concepts and libraries, as well as front-end development.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools will be an advantage.
- Knowledge/experience in the Shipping/logistics industry will be advantageous
- Priority will be given to candidates who are immediately available.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to identify and address complex business challenges through technology solutions.
- Good communication skills to present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Good interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with IT and business stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing changing priorities and expectations.
