We are looking for a Data Modeller with deep expertise in enterprise system migration and modernisation programs, preferably in the financial domain, who will play a pivotal role in decommissioning legacy systems and rebuilding future-ready platforms using PostgreSQL DB.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling for enterprise-wide financial system modernisation and core platform replacement initiatives.
- Data remodelling supporting transactional, analytical, and regulatory workloads.
- Perform legacy data discovery, profiling, and create detailed source-to-target mappings (STTM) for migrations involving hundreds of tables.
- Define and execute end-to-end data migration strategies from legacy environments to modern PostgreSQL.
- Collaborate with solution architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure modelling aligns with business and technology needs.
- Produce high-quality deliverables: ER diagrams, data dictionaries, data mapping, migration runbooks, reconciliation reports.
- Enforce data governance, quality, masking, and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of hands-on data modelling and data migration experience for complex systems and handling high volume data migration.
- Prior experience in migrating complex data from legacy systems (SQL/MP, Enscribe) to PostgreSQL.
- Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL performance and migration features (large-scale COPY, FDW, partitioning, parallel query).
Good to have:
- Knowledge of data modelling tools (PlantUML, Draw.io).
- Experience with reconciliation frameworks.
- Previous projects involved reporting migrations or reference data modernisation.
