Job Description

The Talent:

  • Possesses aDegree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Has at least1-2 years of experiencein software or data engineering.
  • Strong programming skills inPythonandSQL.
  • Hands-on experience inbuilding or maintaining data pipelines(batch or real-time).
  • Exposure todata platformssuch asDatabricks,Snowflake, orCloudera.
  • Familiar withcloud environments(AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Understanding ofdata security, data quality, and data governancepractices.
  • Experience withdata visualization toolssuch asTableau,MicroStrategy, orPower BIis a plus.
  • A motivated team player who iscurious, proactive, and passionateabout leveraging data for impact.
  • Open toSoftware Engineerslooking to grow into adata engineeringcareer path.

The Job:

  • Design, build, and maintaindata pipelinesacross multiple environments and layers (from raw to consumption-ready data).
  • Developdata infrastructure improvementsusing modern practices such asInfrastructure-as-Code (IaC)andDataOps.
  • Implement and optimiseETL/ELT workflowsto ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Collaborate withdata governance teamsto enforce data access, security, and quality controls.
  • Develop and publishmaster and reference datafor cross-domain usage.
  • Supportdata quality pipelines, monitoring and remediating issues with domain data owners.
  • Conductproof-of-conceptswith modern data tools (e.g., dbt, Fivetran, Neo4j, Apache Atlas).
  • Work closely with internal teams ondata models(e.g., Kimball, Data Vault 2.0) and domain-specific data solutions (HR, Finance, Product, etc.).
  • Provide technical guidance onSpark,Databricks, and other data platform technologies.
  • Ensure thesecurity and reliabilityof the agency's data platform and minimise data downtime for critical data products.
