We are looking for a hands-on and motivated Data Centre Technician to support the daily operations of our data centre infrastructure. This role is ideal for candidates with some experience-or fresh graduates with relevant training or internships-who are eager to build a strong foundation in data centre and IT infrastructure operations.
You will work closely with experienced engineers, gaining practical exposure to server hardware, networking, and data centre operations in a 247 mission-critical environment.
Data Centre Operations & Hardware Support
Perform installation, movement, and decommissioning (IMACD) of IT equipment such as servers, network devices, and storage systems.
Carry out basic hardware troubleshooting and component replacement (e.g., disks, memory, SFP modules).
Manage structured cabling, including patching and labeling.
Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment and facilities are operating safely and efficiently.
Support scheduled maintenance activities such as power-down and power-up operations.
Systems & Network Support
Assist with basic Linux system setup and troubleshooting.
Help diagnose and resolve hardware and connectivity issues under guidance from senior engineers.
Inventory & Documentation
Maintain accurate records of equipment and assets within the data centre.
Support capacity tracking (rack space, power, cooling, and connectivity).
Update documentation for cabling, installations, and infrastructure changes.
Vendor & Site Coordination
Escort and coordinate with vendors, ensuring compliance with site procedures.
Support access control and site entry processes.
Follow established change management and incident response procedures.
Operational Support
Participate in shift rotations, on-call duties, and after-hours support as needed.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and team best practices.
Required:
Diploma or degree in IT, Networking, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Basic understanding of IT hardware, networking, and structured cabling.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow processes and documentation.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Willingness to work in a shift-based, 24/7 environment.
Preferred (Nice to Have):
1-2 years of experience in data centre or IT infrastructure support (internships count).
Basic knowledge of Linux systems and networking fundamentals.
Familiarity with data centre concepts such as power, cooling, and rack space management.
