Data Centre Engineer| Contract| Banking

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Engineer to monitor, maintain, and support critical data centre infrastructure. The role involves managing power distribution systems (UPS, generators), HVAC, fire suppression, and structured cabling systems. You will coordinate with building landlords to ensure preventive maintenance is completed promptly, respond to alarms, troubleshoot issues, and oversee compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities also include supporting off-office hours activities, ensuring strict adherence to physical security procedures, following incident response protocols, and preparing detailed performance and incident reports for management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain data centre infrastructure (power, HVAC, fire suppression, cabling).
• Coordinate with building landlords for maintenance and compliance.
• Respond to alarms, troubleshoot, and resolve issues promptly.
• Support emergency repairs and on-call duties outside office hours.
• Enforce physical security procedures and incident response protocols.
• Generate performance, incident, and project status reports.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data centre facility management.
• Proven ability to work in high-pressure environments with 24x7 on-call responsibilities.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and fire suppression systems.
• Familiarity with structured cabling and rack-and-stack
• Solid understanding of ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Prior experience in data centre operations within financial institutions
