Shift Technician - Data Centre Solutions
About The Role
As a CBRE Shift Technician, you will help maintain the safe, reliable and efficient operation of critical building systems within a data centre environment. Reporting to the Shift Lead, you will complete planned preventative maintenance, monitor building systems, respond to alarms and faults, and support corrective, repair and installation works.
This hands-on role requires sound building-services knowledge, critical-environment experience and a strong commitment to safe working practices, accurate reporting and responsive customer service.

Shift Technician - Data Centre Solutions
About The Role
As a CBRE Shift Technician, you will help maintain the safe, reliable and efficient operation of critical building systems within a data centre environment. Reporting to the Shift Lead, you will complete planned preventative maintenance, monitor building systems, respond to alarms and faults, and support corrective, repair and installation works.
This hands-on role requires sound building-services knowledge, critical-environment experience and a strong commitment to safe working practices, accurate reporting and responsive customer service.
Role Details
- Reports to the Site Manager.
- Works within an operational data center and critical environment setting.
- 12-hour rotating shift arrangement.
- May participate in an emergency call-out roster, including weekend coverage and support for team-member absences when required.
Planned Maintenance & Operations
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical, HVAC, and building systems.
- Conduct site inspections, meter readings, and equipment checks.
- Support air-conditioning troubleshooting and installation activities.
- Build strong knowledge of site infrastructure and operations.
- Monitor BMS alarms and system performance.
- Investigate faults and carry out basic troubleshooting and repairs.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with site and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare maintenance reports and escalate issues when required.
- Follow permit-to-work procedures and safe work practices.
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Deliver professional customer service to clients and stakeholders.
- Contribute ideas to improve reliability and service delivery.
- Experience working with building services and critical facilities environments.
- Knowledge of permit-to-work systems and safety procedures.
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow operational procedures.
- Experience with CMMS and BMS platforms.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts and respond effectively to incidents.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and accurate documentation.
