Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for a Data Centre M&E Engineer to support operations across mission-critical data centre environments. The role will provide M&E engineering, service management, vendor coordination and maintenance oversight to ensure reliable and effective data centre operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely reporting and escalation of operational issues to designated client contacts.
  • Support incident, event and problem management, including coordinating information flow during M&E-related incidents, providing regular status updates, reviewing incident reports, preparing periodic trend summaries, and tracking post-incident actions through to closure.
  • Provide cost and contract support, including assisting with operating budgets related to M&E services and reviewing vendor invoices for scope and contractual alignment.
  • Support change management, ensuring M&E-related changes follow agreed processes with appropriate documentation and reporting.
  • Support vendor management, including coordinating with third-party service providers to monitor Health & Safety compliance and performance against agreed KPIs and SLAs.
  • Oversee vendor-generated documentation, including method statements, risk assessments and permit-to-work submissions.
  • Provide oversight and coordination for routine and ad-hoc M&E maintenance activities within data centres, ensuring risks are identified, mitigated and appropriately communicated.
  • Support monitoring and reporting of data centre energy consumption and utilisation, based on information provided by colocation facility operators.
  • Support data centre environments with critical M&E infrastructure, including UPS, generators, cooling systems and power distribution.
  • Coordinate activities within IT-enabled infrastructure environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant M&E engineering experience, with at least 2 years of experience working on hyperscale data centre projects.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering M&E engineering services within mission-critical or data centre environments.
  • Hands-on knowledge of critical M&E infrastructure, including UPS, generators, cooling systems and power distribution.
  • Experience in vendor coordination, maintenance oversight and M&E service management, including monitoring KPIs, SLAs, Health & Safety and permit-to-work requirements.
