Serve as the hands and feet engineer, managing day-to-day operations and coordinating with users, visitors, and subscribers.
Facilitate and oversee visitor activities within the Data Centre.
Collaborate with project teams to support ongoing initiatives.
Handle operational and production-related issues, ensuring timely resolution.
Manage and respond to incidents during assigned shifts.
Participate in Data Centre operations across multiple customer sites in Singapore, including equipment installation, decommissioning, and troubleshooting.
Travel to different sites for incident resolution and planned maintenance activities.
Perform equipment installation and removal, including server racking and stacking.
Execute cabling tasks such as patching, labeling, and structured cabling.
Conduct daily server health checks, walkthroughs, reporting, and manage queues (remedy and email).
Ensure cleanliness and safety by keeping contaminants and cardboard out of the Data Centre.
Receive deliveries, maintain inventory, and manage storeroom organization.
Maintain accurate visitor records and access logs.
2-3 years of hands-on experience in Data Centre operations.
Strong knowledge of Data Centre infrastructure and hardware troubleshooting.
Familiarity with cabling standards and structured cabling practices.
Basic understanding of Data Centre facilities, environments, and industry standards.
Ability to work in a 24x7 rotational shift environment.
Flexibility to adapt to team rotation schedules.
Strong verbal and written communication skills proactive and motivated team player.
Proven experience with Data Centre operational processes and procedures.
Technical certifications (e.g., Data Centre certifications).
Experience collaborating with external vendors.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong team orientation and adaptability in a 24x7 environment.
High availability and commitment to operational requirements.
Ability to work effectively with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
