Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Data Centre Engineer to manage and ensure the smooth functioning of our data centre infrastructure. The role involves overseeing data centre uptime, capacity planning, and maintenance activities, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in server, storage, and network operations, with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. You will be responsible for managing physical access, structured cabling, M&E installations, and supporting system rollouts, upgrades, and retrofitting works. This position requires flexibility to provide 24/7 standby support and the ability to collaborate effectively across infrastructure and application teams to ensure optimal data centre performance and reliability.
Job Description
- To manage the overall availability and uptime of the Data Centres
- To manage the Data Centre physical access and control
- To manage the Data Centre space, power and IT inventories
- To manage the Data Centre data structured cabling works
- To manage the Data Centre M&E installation, incident, and provide updates to management
- To work closely with respective personnel to ensure the proper upkeep and regular maintenance is performed for Data Centers
- To ensure Data Centre compliance to local regulatory requirements
- To produce monthly rack and cabling capacity reports of Data Centre overall facility
- To manage Data Centre retrofitting works
- To be on 24x7 standby and be able to travel and support all Data Centres work activities
Job Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- At least 3 6 years relevant experience preferably in Data Center environment
- Infrastructure Expertise:
- Strong hands-on experience with data center operations, including server, storage, and network hardware.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
- Skilled in using monitoring tools to ensure system health and performance.
- Able to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.
- Operational Support:
- Provide on-site and remote support for data center environments.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and preventive maintenance.
- Deployment & Change Management:
- Support system rollouts, upgrades, and migrations.
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to change control processes.
- Security & Compliance:
- Ensure systems comply with security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Assist in audits and implement remediation actions as needed.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with infrastructure, application, and network teams to support project delivery.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and maintain clear documentation.
- Availability & Flexibility:
- Willing to work on-call, during off-hours, or weekends as needed for maintenance or emergencies.
