We are helping our client, a global cybersecurity services provider, part of the large international conglomerate, to build a new Cyber Security (MDS/ SOC/ IR) hub that will support enterprise clients in APAC region. The company focuses on highend MDR, incident response, and cyber readiness, supporting organizations across industries. It combines advanced proprietary technology with experienced responders to detect, investigate, and contain complex cyber threats 24/7. The company already has presence and client portfolio in the region, with strategy to grow rapidly within next years.
The new site will work closely with HQ and other global hubs, with strong R&D collaboration and direct client exposure.
About the role
In this role you will be the first MDR leader hire in Singapore, responsible for building and running the regional MDR operation for APAC. You will combine handson involvement in complex investigations with daytoday leadership of team leads and analysts delivering 24/7 monitoring and response. You will ensure the site meets global MDR standards, convert existing global playbooks into local ways of working, and represent the site in global MDR forums. The role suits experienced MDR/SOC/IR leaders who has worked with enterprise clients and wants to scale a team from scratch while remaining close to technology and clients.
Key responsibilities
Be a part of global MDR strategy and help translate it into local execution, improving processes, workflows, and use of the company's platform.
Lead daytoday MDR site operations, including shift readiness, alert triage quality, incident handling, and operational KPIs.
Build, mentor, and develop a growing team of MDR analysts and leads, fostering a highperformance, collaborative culture.
Stay handson in complex investigations, providing technical guidance in critical security incidents and highrisk cases.
Serve as a core point of contact for regional clients, owning escalations, reviews, and ongoing service quality.
Partner with Product and Engineering to channel analyst and client feedback into platform and service enhancements.
Coordinate with global MDR sites to ensure smooth handovers, knowledge sharing, and consistent service across regions.
Requirements
7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on MDR, SOC, or incident response roles.
2+ years leading teams or acting as a team lead in a hightempo operational environment; managing managers is not required.
proven experience building or scaling security operations or MDR/SOC teams, ideally from early stage.
comfortable staying handson with alerts, investigations, and tooling while also thinking about process and strategy.
experienced in client communication, including regular reviews, reporting, and handling escalations across different regions and stakeholder levels.
excellent English communication skills and experience working in international, crosstimezone environments.
