About the role

Cargohub Groupage Services Pte Ltd is seeking a Customer Service Officer (Freight Forwarding) to join our team in the Central Region on a full-time basis. This is a customer-facing position that plays a vital role in maintaining strong relationships with our clients and ensuring seamless freight forwarding operations. You will be the primary point of contact for customers, handling inquiries, coordinating shipments, and providing exceptional service that underpins our reputation in the freight and cargo forwarding industry. Key responsibilities

  • Managing customer inquiries and providing accurate information regarding freight forwarding services, shipping routes, and cargo handling procedures

  • Processing freight documentation including bills of lading, invoices, customs declarations, and shipping manifests with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Coordinating with shipping partners, customs brokers, and logistics providers to ensure timely and compliant cargo movement

  • Tracking and monitoring shipments throughout transit, providing customers with regular updates on cargo status and estimated delivery times

  • Resolving customer issues and complaints professionally and efficiently, escalating complex matters to management when necessary

  • Maintaining accurate records of customer interactions, shipment details, and transaction data in company systems

  • Preparing quotations and freight forwarding proposals for potential customers based on route, weight, and cargo specifications

  • Supporting the coordination of pick-up and delivery arrangements with logistics partners and clients

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant freight forwarding regulations, international shipping standards, and company policies

  • Collaborating with internal teams including operations, billing, and management to support overall business objectives

  • Verify overseas agents and contractors invoices and manage customer billing in a timely manner

  • Process Dangerous Goods (DG) applications in accordance with regulatory requirements

  • Perform accurate data entry and support ad-hoc operational assignments to maintain operational records and assist team functions

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in customer service, preferably within the freight forwarding, logistics, or shipping industry

  • Strong knowledge of freight forwarding procedures, documentation requirements, and international shipping practices

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders

  • Proficiency in using customer relationship management (CRM) systems and logistics management software

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple shipments and customer requests simultaneously

  • Attention to detail and accuracy when processing documentation and data entry

  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing customer needs and operational challenges

  • Familiarity with customs procedures, import/export regulations, and cargo classification is highly desirable

  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, changing logistics environment

  • Relevant qualifications in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain management are preferred but not essential with sufficient industry experience
