CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICER (FREIGHT FORWARDING)

Responsibilities
. Attend to customer, agent enquiries & complaints
. Carrier negotiation & booking
. Check sailing schedule and cargo status
. Arrange trucking and stuffing
. Prepare shipping documents for export & import (FCL, LCL , Cross Trade, Air Freight etc)
. Assist in bill of lading (BL), certificates of origin (COO), cargo insurance, PM4, SI, MSDS and other cargo acceptance documentation
. Co-ordinate & monitor shipment with carriers and clients
. Process custom clearance & permit if needed
. Send pre alert shipping documents & invoice to customer
. Liaise with accounts dept to make payment to carriers
. Verify vendor invoices with job no. to accounts dept for payment processing
. Reporting of cargo issues
. Support in all aspect of sales and operational activities
. Assist in job closing and billing when required
. General admin duties and other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
. At least Nitec/Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Shipping or equivalent
. Good communication and interpersonal skills to develop strong working relationships (both internal and external)
. Good problem-solving skills and able to work under pressure
. Well-organized, willing to learn, able to work in fast pace environment
. Able to work independently or in a team-based environment
. Proficient in MS Office applications, Portnet, Customs Permit
. At least 1 year of relevant experience in the import/export freight forwarding industry. Training is provided
. Bilingual in English, Mandarin to liaise with mandarin speaking associates
. Prior experience with freight/shipping customer service would be advantageous.
