A Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) is responsible for managing product quality from the customer's perspective, acting as the primary technical interface between the customer and internal teams to ensure customer quality requirements are met, issues are resolved quickly, and long‑term quality improvements are implemented.
The CQE focuses on customer complaints, quality incidents, audits, and continuous improvement, translating customer expectations into actionable internal quality and engineering activities.
Job descriptions:
1. Customer Quality Interface
. Serve as the main point of contact for customer quality issues
. Communicate investigation status, root cause, and corrective actions clearly to customers
. Support customer meetings, reviews, and audits related to quality topics
2. Customer Complaint & Claim Handling
. Lead customer complaints, RTV, and quality claims
. Drive structured problem-solving activities
. Ensure timely containment, corrective, and preventive actions
3. Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action
. Perform and coordinate root cause analysis across manufacturing, process, and engineering teams
. Validate effectiveness of corrective actions
. Prevent recurrence through system or process improvement
4. Quality Monitoring & Reporting
. Monitor customer quality KPIs such as:
. Customer complaints
. Yield impact
. Defect trends
. Claim frequency
. Prepare regular quality reports and dashboards for customers and management
5. Cross-Functional Coordination
. Work closely with:
o Manufacturing
o Process Engineering
o QA / IPQA
o Supply
Drive alignment between customer expectations and internal execution
6. Audit & Compliance Support
. Support customer audits and quality system reviews
. Ensure compliance with customer-specific quality requirements and standards
. Follow up on audit findings and closure actions
Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Science or Quality Management or any engineering related field.
Skills Required (Good to Have)
. Quality tool:8D, FMEA, SPC, RCA
. Data analysis and trend monitoring
. Understanding of yield and process variation
. Strong communication skill
. Ability to manage urgent issue under time pressure.
