Role Overview
The Curriculum & Training Manager is responsible for designing, structuring, and executing our accredited Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) certifications, continuing education programs (YACEP), and specialized educational workshops. This role bridges curriculum design, faculty leadership, and hands-on instruction to deliver high-standard educational experiences that prepare trainees to become professional yoga educators.
Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Design & Accreditation
Develop and update course syllabi, manuals, slide decks, and training materials for foundational and advanced certifications (e.g., 200-Hour, 300-Hour, 500-Hour).
Design continuing professional development (CPD) modules and weekend workshops covering specialized areas (e.g., Functional Anatomy, Philosophy, Adjustments & Alignment, Pranayama, Sequencing, Restorative/Yin).
Ensure all training curricula comply with international governing bodies (e.g., Yoga Alliance RYS standards) and local regulatory guidelines.
Implement structured assessment frameworks, including practical teaching evaluations, written examinations, and peer-review rubrics.
2. Training Delivery & Cohort Facilitation
Act as Lead Trainer for core YTT cohorts, facilitating daily lectures, practicums, alignment labs, and practice-teaching clinics.
Provide continuous, constructive feedback and mentorship to trainees throughout their certification journey.
Coordinate final assessments, practical check-offs, and formal graduation ceremonies.
3. Faculty & Guest Lecturer Management
Scout, onboard, and manage guest lecturers and subject-matter experts (e.g., anatomy specialists, philosophy scholars, voice coaches).
Monitor instruction quality across assisting trainers and cohort mentors to maintain consistent delivery standards.
Conduct regular faculty briefings to align on learning objectives and student progress.
4. Program Operations & Commercial Coordination
Collaborate with the marketing and admissions teams to establish annual course schedules, launch dates, and cohort targets.
Support marketing efforts by hosting preview workshops, information sessions, and open-house Q&A panels for prospective trainees.
Collect and evaluate post-training student feedback, compiling reports to drive continuous quality improvements and high course completion rates.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Certifications & Credentials
E-RYT 500 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) with Yoga Alliance or equivalent internationally recognized credential.
YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider) eligibility or certification preferred.
Formal certifications in related disciplines (e.g., Applied Biomechanics, Yoga Therapy, Yin Yoga, Sound Healing, or Pilates) are a strong advantage.
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of experience leading or co-leading accredited YTT programs (200-Hour/300-Hour).
Proven track record in instructional design-creating training manuals, lesson plans, and teaching rubrics from the ground up.
Demonstrated history of delivering high-engagement workshops to diverse cohorts of practitioners.
Skills & Competencies
Pedagogical Expertise: Ability to break down complex topics (e.g., kinesiology, classical philosophy texts like Patanjali's Yoga Sutras) into clear, digestible, practical lessons.
Communication & Mentorship: Strong interpersonal and active-listening skills ability to hold space and give empathetic, actionable feedback.
Organizational Acumen: Strong project and timeline management skills with the capacity to run multiple cohorts or workshops simultaneously.
Tech Literacy: Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS), Google Workspace, presentation tools, and student tracking databases.
