We are seeking an experienced Crew Manager to oversee all crewing functions for our fleet of bulk carriers. The role requires strong operational judgement and the ability to manage crew matters efficiently in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
. Lead and manage the Crew Department (10 staff), ensuring effective team performance and alignment with company objectives
. Manage end-to-end crewing operations, including recruitment, deployment, and scheduling
. Ensure compliance with MLC, STCW, and flag state requirements
. Oversee crew certification, documentation, and training records
. Handle crew P&I matters, including crew claims, incidents, and liaison with insurers
. Monitor crew performance, discipline, and career development
. Safeguard crew welfare, health, and well-being onboard
. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on crewing matters
. Maintain accurate crew records and employment documentation
Requirements
. Minimum 5-8 years experience in crew management or maritime HR
. Degree in Maritime Studies, HR, Business, or related field
. Strong knowledge of international crewing practices and maritime regulations
. Familiarity with crewing systems (e.g. Crew Manager, Ship Manager)
. Good leadership, communication, and organisational skills
. Sailing experience as Senior Officer / Marine Engineer is an added advantage
