Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and ongoing enhancement of retail credit risk frameworks covering credit card underwriting and portfolio management.
  • Assist in drafting, maintaining, and implementing credit card-specific credit risk policies, underwriting criteria, and controls in line with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Work closely with risk modelling and analytics teams to support the development, validation, and monitoring of retail credit risk models (e.g. Basel, ECL), including data preparation and analysis
  • Perform ongoing credit card portfolio monitoring, including approval rates, risk grade migration, delinquency trends, early warning indicators, vintage analysis, and concentration monitoring.
  • Support risk appetite and limit management for credit card portfolios through limit tracking, stress testing analysis, and regular reporting.
  • Partner with underwriting, business, and product teams to support credit card strategy reviews, policy changes, new product launches, and portfolio optimisation initiatives.
  • Produce analytics and recurring risk reports to support credit card underwriting decisions, portfolio performance tracking, and management review.
  • Prepare materials for internal stakeholders and governance forums, summarising credit card portfolio performance, underwriting outcomes, key risk metrics, and emerging risk themes.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or above in a Quantitative field (Eg. Statistics, Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Data Analytics) at a reputable university with strong academic credentials.
  • Relevant experience (e.g., full-time/part-time/internship) in retail credit products, such as credit cards and unsecured personal loans, or other financial risk domains is a plus.
  • Open to candidates across experience levels, including entry-level and experienced professionals.
  • Proficiency in data and analytical tools such as SQL and Excel.
  • Familiarity with credit card-relevant credit risk concepts, including scorecards, Basel, ECL, and stress testing, through coursework, research, internships, or working experiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate portfolio data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, structured environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
