Responsibilities:-
- Analyse and assess credit proposals for new and existing corporate banking customers, including annual and quarterly financial statements of Chinese corporates and SOEs
- Translate financial statements into the Bank's internal credit assessment and risk rating frameworks
- Perform borrower and facility risk ratings in accordance with internal credit policies
- Prepare and originate loan applications for new financing requests and renewal of existing facilities
- Conduct comprehensive credit reviews and provide recommendations for management approval
- Identify key credit risks and recommend appropriate risk mitigants and deal structures
- Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements and PRC foreign exchange regulations administered by SAFE
- Perform portfolio reviews and monitor the credit quality of existing relationships
- Partner closely with Relationship Managers, Risk Management, Compliance and other stakeholders to facilitate timely credit approvals
- Support process improvements, system enhancements and management reporting initiatives.
Requirements:-
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking or a related discipline
- Ability to analyse Chinese financial reports and credit-related documentation
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and corporate credit fundamentals
- Knowledge of China GAAP/CAS and its key differences from IFRS, including areas such as asset valuation, impairment and taxation
- Strong analytical, report writing and credit assessment skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated learner with a keen interest in keeping abreast of developments in China's lending and regulatory landscape
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Prior experience in corporate banking, credit analysis, commercial lending or risk management would be advantageous
