Creative Strategy Director

Summary

A global fintech giant is seeking an experienced Creative Strategy Director to lead and grow their in-house Strategy vertical, building it into a differentiated and scalable capability that drives client impact, commercial growth and creative excellence across the region. This role combines strategic leadership, capability building, commercial acumen and creative innovation.

You will be responsible for defining the vision, frameworks, methodologies and operating model for the Strategy practice, while establishing a high-performing team of strategists that are trusted partners to clients and internal stakeholders. You will continuously evolve the capability to meet changing client needs, market dynamics and emerging opportunities, positioning Creative Strategy as a growth engine.

You are a strategic thinker, commercial leader and builder at heart, equally comfortable shaping a long-term vision, developing talent, creating intellectual property and engaging with senior clients on their most important business challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the vision, strategy and growth of the Creative Strategy vertical.
• Build and scale the capability through best-practice frameworks, tools and methodologies.
• Recruit, develop and lead a high-performing team of strategists.
• Foster a culture of innovation, strategic excellence and commercial accountability.
• Partner with stakeholders and leaders to grow the Strategy offering and drive revenue opportunities.
• Support client pitches, proposal development and strategic solutioning.
• Develop new strategy-led services and offerings aligned to evolving client needs.
• Identify market trends and opportunities to strengthen capability and accelerate growth.
• Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior client stakeholders.
• Partner with Creative Directors to translate strategy into compelling creative solutions.
• Lead strategic workshops, ideation sessions and high-impact client engagements.
• Ensure strategic excellence and quality across all team outputs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, Research Centre and cross-functional teams to leverage insights and expertise.
• Apply consumer, market and cultural trends to strengthen recommendations and evolve the capability.
• Drive adoption of the Strategy offering across stakeholders and Marketing Services to increase revenue and client impact.
• Recruit, coach and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of innovation, excellence and accountability

Key Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Creative Strategy, Strategic Planning, Brand Strategy, Communications Planning or Creative Leadership.
• Demonstrated success building, scaling or transforming a strategic capability, practice or consulting function.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience contributing to business growth, client acquisition and revenue generation.
• Proven ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and position strategic solutions to senior client audiences.
• Deep understanding of strategic planning frameworks, brand strategy, customer insights and creative effectiveness methodologies.
• Experience developing intellectual property, strategic frameworks and repeatable service offerings.
• Strong understanding of consumer behaviour, market research and competitive intelligence.
• Adept at translating data, research and business objectives into compelling strategic recommendations.
• Exceptional leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong conceptual thinking, problem-solving ability and executive communication skills.
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, matrixed and evolving environments.
• Bachelor's degree required; postgraduate qualifications in Strategy, Marketing, Business or MBA valued.
