At StarMedia, we create physical brand experiences that connect brands with consumers from retail displays and fixtures to pop-ups, product showcases, activations and complete retail environments.

We are looking for a Creative Designer with an Industrial Design mindset who wants to take ideas beyond the screen and turn them into experiences people can actually see, touch and interact with.

You'll have the opportunity to work on projects involving renowned global and regional brands, gaining exposure to international brand standards, challenging retail environments and projects executed across Singapore and the region.

And because the way designers work is changing, we are looking for someone who sees AI as part of the modern creative toolkit — using it to explore more possibilities, visualise ideas faster and strengthen the overall design process.

What You'll Design

Your projects may include:

* POP / POS displays and merchandising solutions

* Retail fixtures, gondolas, wall displays and shop-in-shop environments

* Pop-ups, roadshows and brand activation spaces

* Product showcases and experiential installations

* Exhibition and event environments

* Travel retail and airport environments

* Prototypes and customised physical brand elements

* Retail concepts integrating digital screens, lighting and interactive technology

Your work can span the complete journey:

Brief → Research → Idea → AI Exploration → Sketch → 3D Concept → Visualisation → Materials → Prototype → Production → Installation

AI as Part of Your Design Toolkit

We believe AI is changing how creative professionals explore and communicate ideas — but great design still requires human judgement, creativity and an understanding of how things work in the real world.

We are looking for designers who are already using, or are excited to develop their ability to use, AI within the creative process.

This could include using AI to:

* Research visual directions and consumer trends

* Generate and explore multiple concept directions rapidly

* Develop moodboards and early-stage visual studies

* Experiment with forms, materials, environments and styles

* Enhance concept visualisation and presentation

* Create storyboards and experience journeys

* Develop prompts that translate creative intent into useful visual outputs

* Combine AI-generated exploration with traditional sketching and 3D design

* Accelerate repetitive design tasks while spending more time on creative problem-solving

Experience with AI creative tools such as ChatGPT, Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Stable Diffusion or other image/video generation and visualisation platforms is an advantage.

We don't expect you to know every AI tool.

We do expect you to be curious, experimental and willing to continuously learn how new technology can make you a better designer.

What You'll Do

Working alongside our creative, project and production teams, you will:

* Interpret client briefs and translate them into compelling creative concepts

* Develop sketches, spatial concepts and 3D designs

* Use AI-assisted workflows to accelerate research, ideation and visualisation

* Create strong presentation visuals and realistic renderings

* Design with materials, fabrication methods, budgets and installation in mind

* Develop practical retail fixtures and display solutions

* Prepare design details and communicate design intent to production teams

* Review prototypes and refine designs for production

* Explore new materials, technologies and fabrication techniques

* Collaborate with regional partners, suppliers and clients to bring concepts to life

* Continuously experiment with new AI, 3D and digital creative tools

Who We're Looking For

You may come from Industrial Design, Product Design, Spatial Design, Retail Design, Interior Architecture, Exhibition Design or a related discipline.

More important than your job title is how you think.

We are looking for someone who:

* Thinks creatively in 3D, form, space and user experience

* Has strong industrial/product design fundamentals

* Understands how things are constructed, assembled and manufactured

* Can balance creativity, practicality and commercial realities

* Has strong visualisation and presentation abilities

* Is comfortable using AI as part of the design and ideation process

* Can distinguish between an interesting AI-generated image and a concept that can actually be built

* Is curious about materials, fabrication and emerging technology

* Enjoys solving problems rather than simply following instructions

* Is comfortable working across different project types and brands

* Learns quickly and actively experiments with new ways of working

Experience with tools such as SketchUp, 3ds Max, Rhino, SolidWorks, Blender, KeyShot and Adobe Creative Suite, or similar 3D/design software, would be valuable.

AI creative and visualisation skills are increasingly important to us and will be considered an advantage.
