Key Responsibility Areas
- Provide individual, marital and family counselling, and/or group therapy sessions to clients
- Conduct proper intake and assessment of client issues, develop treatment plans and implement such plans towards the fulfilment of therapeutic goals
- Collect and maintain proper and confidential client records and programme documentation, including counselling case notes, treatment plans, and feedback forms
- Respond to helpline calls from help-seekers and follow up on such calls
- Prepare and deliver talks, training and workshops on addiction and mental health-related issues
- Participate in regular supervision and professional development opportunities
- Work collaboratively with other departments to support programmes, communications, administrative functions and corporate events
- Give talks to the public and/or peers in the social service sector on topics such as mental health and addiction
Candidate Requirements
- Master's degree in counselling
- Good interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Familiar with Google and Microsoft Workspace applications
- Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Strong organisational and administrative skills for maintaining accurate client and programme records
- A heart for people - Empathetic, adaptable, and resilient in addressing diverse client needs, in relation to their struggle with addiction
- Team player
Preferred achievements / characteristics:
- At least 2 years of experience in counselling
- Registered counsellor with a recognised professional body (e.g., SAC, SPS)
- Knowledge of the social service landscape
- Experience in frontline service providing services to members of the public
- Experience in addiction counselling, particularly in sex/pornography
