Counsellor (Part-Time)
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Counsellor (Part-Time) to support our programme serving single parents (SPIN members). The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Programme to ensure high-quality counselling services and strengthen clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Co-manage and provide professional guidance to volunteer and intern counsellors.
- Provide counselling and crisis intervention support to individuals and families.
- Maintain accurate case documentation and monitor qualitative & quantitative outcomes.
- Review and update clinical policies and programme frameworks.
- Facilitate groupwork, workshops, and monthly clinical support sessions.
- Prepare management reports and support programme development and evaluation.
- Advocate for clients access to housing, healthcare, and financial assistance coordinate with relevant agencies.
- Build community partnerships and engage stakeholders to enhance client support.
- Stay updated on counselling standards (SAC), legislation, and community resources.
Casework & Counselling
- Provide counselling and crisis intervention support to individuals and families.
- Advocate for clients access to essential resources (e.g., housing, healthcare, financial assistance) and coordinate with relevant professionals and agencies.
- Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and timely documentation of case records and client progress.
- Ensure compliance with counselling practices and procedures set by the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC).
- Systematically monitor sessions conducted and collect qualitative and quantitative outcome data.
- Develop and review clinical policies and procedures annually.
- Plan and co-facilitate monthly clinical support groups for volunteer and intern counsellors.
- Establish best practices for counselling provision for SPIN's clientele and contribute sector knowledge through sharing with other Social Service Agencies (SSAs).
Community Engagement
- Actively engage in community networking and foster collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Stay updated on developments in community resources, services, and relevant legislation to inform best practice.
Working Conditions Regular office hours. Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays when required.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Counselling.
- Minimum 3 years of direct counselling experience.
- Knowledge of Singapore's social service sector and resources for single parents.
- Strong understanding of multicultural communities.
- Proficient in CRM/case management systems.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
