Role Purpose
The Counsellor provides quality, trauma-informed counselling services while actively leading outreach and partnership work with organisations. The role balances direct clinical practice with sector-facing engagement to strengthen referral pathways, early intervention, and access to mental health support.
Key Responsibilities
A. Counselling & Casework (50%)
- Provide individual, couple, and/or family counselling in line with professional and ethical standards.
- Conduct intake assessments, risk screening, case formulation, and goalsetting.
- Deliver evidence-informed and trauma-responsive interventions.
- Maintain timely and accurate case documentation and outcome records.
- Participate in clinical supervision, case consultations, and teamdiscussions.
- Identify safeguarding concerns and activate appropriate referral or protection pathways.
B. Organisational Outreach & Partnerships (50%)
- Plan and implement outreach initiatives to organisations such as schools, workplaces, and community agencies.
- Build and sustain partnerships to promote early intervention and help-seeking
- Deliver talks, workshops, psychoeducation, and preventive programmes.
- Serve as a liaison for organisational referrals and follow-ups.
- Collaborate internally to design outreach aligned with funder and sector priorities.
- Track outreach engagement, referrals, and feedback for reporting and service improvement.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Counselling (50%)
- Maintain an assigned counselling caseload aligned with service targets.
- Achieve agreed counselling session targets reflecting 50% workload allocation.
- 95% timely completion of case notes and documentation.
- Demonstrated client progress using agreed outcome or proxy indicators.
- Compliance with clinical governance, supervision, and safeguarding requirements.
Outreach & Partnerships (50%)
- Number of organisations engaged per quarter (new and sustained partnerships).
- Outreach activities delivered (e.g. workshops, talks, group sessions).
- Referral uptake generated from outreach activities.
- Partner satisfaction and feedback outcomes.
- Contribution to outreach reports, funder updates, and impact summaries.
Requirements & Competencies
- Recognized qualifications in Counselling, Psychology, or a relateddiscipline.
- Relevant clinical experience in individual and/or family counselling.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to translate clinical knowledge into accessible outreach content.
- Comfort working across clinical, community, and organisational settings.
- Good documentation, reporting, and outcome-tracking discipline.
