Baker McKenzie.Wong & Leow is seeking a Paralegal to join the Transactional - Private Equity Practice Group. The role provides legal, transactional, operational and administrative support to the Private Equity & Investment Funds Practice Group, including the preparation and management of fund documentation, regulatory filings, fund vehicle registrations, transaction closings, legal research and other fund formation and fund-related activities.About the role
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Assisting with the drafting of fund documents and supporting transactions alongside senior associates, counsels and partners;
- Managing and maintaining transaction documents, records and related information;
- Preparing and filing ACRA registrations and other related filings for fund vehicles;
- Assisting with transaction closings, including the preparation of closing documentation, coordination of closing mechanics and compilation of transaction bundles and originals;
- Conducting research and benchmarking exercises using the Firm's fund precedents and databases;
- Performing BizFile searches with ACRA on Singapore limited partnerships, companies and Variable Capital Companies (VCCs);
- Proof-reading legal and transaction documents;
- Liaising with clients (both local and international) in relation to instructions, fund subscriptions and closing documentation;
- Preparing resolutions of directors and shareholders, letters, confirmations and statements; and
- Undertaking simple drafting of ancillary documentation, including checklists, notices, corporate approvals and other supporting documents.
About the candidate
- Diploma or degree in law or an equivalent qualification.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple matters, competing priorities and deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Comfortable using technology and digital solutions to improve efficiency; exposure to AI-enabled tools and workflow automation would be advantageous.
- Self-starter who can demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude to their work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working across multiple cultures and time zones.
