Corporate Senior Associate / Counsel / Partner

About

The successful candidate will work closely with lawyers and other professionals across the firm's international network and advise major corporates, investors and multinational businesses on a broad range of cross-border transactions. This position will involve both transaction execution and business development.

Responsibilities

• Advising on cross-border M&A, joint ventures, strategic investments and corporate transactions
• Managing complex multi-jurisdictional matters across Asia, including particularly SEA
• Coordinating with local counsel across regional jurisdictions
• Advising clients on regional investment / corporate structures and market-entry strategies
• Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
• Working closely with colleagues across Asia on international transactions
• Supporting the continued development of the firm's Singapore and Southeast Asia practice
• Participating in client development and broader business development initiatives

Requirements

• Approximately 10–20 years PQE, although candidates outside this range may also be considered
• Strong corporate / M&A experience gained with a reputable international or leading regional law firm
• Significant experience handling cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions
• Strong exposure to Southeast Asia and/or Greater China-related matters
• UK, US, Singapore and/or other international qualification
• Mandarin capability is a must – due to Chinese clientele
• Experience working with Chinese corporates or China-related transactions
• Strong commercial judgement and client-management capability
• Ability to operate effectively across different cultures and jurisdictions
• Collaborative, commercially minded and entrepreneurial approach

Business Development

An established portable practice would be advantageous, although the firm is equally interested in candidates who have demonstrated strong client relationships, business-development potential and the ability to grow a regional practice.
