Role Overview
We are seeking a Core Banking Functional Lead to drive the successful execution of banking transformation initiatives. This role requires a strong blend of technical understanding, vendor coordination, and stakeholder engagement-particularly with banking partners. The ideal candidate will serve as a bridge between business and technology, ensuring seamless delivery across all phases of the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead functional analysis and solution design for core banking systems
- Proposal create, review, refine and present
- Coordinate with vendors, technical teams, and bank stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely delivery
- Oversee execution of system enhancements, integrations, and migrations
- Manage requirement gathering, gap analysis, and documentation (BRD, FSD, UAT plans)
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal governance
- Support SIT/UAT cycles and post-go-live stabilization
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior functional analysts
- Act as the primary point of contact for cross-functional teams and external partners
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Finance, or related field
- 5-12 years of experience in core banking transformation or functional consulting
- Strong knowledge of platforms like Temenos, Finacle, CGI or Flexcube
- Proven experience in vendor management, project execution, and bank coordination
- Familiarity with BPMN, API integrations, and system architecture
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in leading multi-country or regional banking projects
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
- Certification in project management or business analysis is a plus
