Core Operations Engineer (Linux & Trading Systems)

About the Role

We are seeking a Core Operations Engineer to support and maintain high-performance trading systems within a fast-paced electronic trading environment. This role focuses on solving complex technical issues in Linux-based systems and working closely with traders and exchanges to ensure smooth and reliable trading operations.

You will play a key role in monitoring trading infrastructure, troubleshooting system issues, and supporting automated trading processes. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in financial markets, technology, and high-performance systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain Linux-based trading systems and infrastructure
  • Monitor system performance and resolve technical issues in real time
  • Work closely with traders and exchange teams to ensure reliable trading operations
  • Assist with automation of operational workflows and system processes
  • Troubleshoot system, network, and application-level issues
  • Support trading connectivity with exchanges and external systems
  • Contribute to improving system stability, performance, and automation

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting trading systems or working in a similar technical operations environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux operating systems
  • Programming experience in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in time-sensitive environments
  • Strong interest in technology, trading systems, and high-performance environments
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Strong academic background

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with financial trading systems or financial markets
  • Knowledge of SQL and database systems
  • Familiarity with automation or configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Salt)
  • Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP and UDP
  • Familiarity with regulatory or exchange environments
